Code-Projects COVID Tracking System, SQL Injection, CVE-2025-13585 (Medium)

Listen to this Post

How the CVE works:

The vulnerability exists within the `code` parameter of the `/login.php` script in Code-Projects COVID Tracking System 1.0. The application fails to properly sanitize user input before incorporating it into SQL queries. An attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP POST request containing malicious SQL code within the `code` parameter. This input is directly concatenated into the database query for authentication, allowing the attacker to manipulate the query’s logic. This can result in bypassing login authentication, extracting sensitive data from the database, or modifying database content. The attack is remotely exploitable without authentication, requiring no user interaction. Publicly available exploit code demonstrates the injection point and methodology.
