How the CVE Works
CVE-2025-20247 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Cisco Webex due to improper input sanitization in user-supplied data. An attacker crafts a malicious link containing JavaScript payloads, which Webex fails to filter. When a victim clicks the link, the script executes in their browser session, allowing session hijacking, data theft, or unauthorized actions. The attack requires minimal user interaction (clicking a link) and exploits Webex’s failure to encode output rendered in the web interface.
