Bun, OS Command Injection, CVE-2025-XXXX (High)

Listen to this Post

How the CVE Works

Bun’s `$` shell API improperly sanitizes user input, allowing command-line arguments or shell metacharacters to be injected. Attackers can craft malicious input that escapes intended execution contexts, leading to arbitrary command execution. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input validation when processing shell commands, enabling attackers to chain unintended system commands.
