Array Networks ArrayOS AG, Command Injection Vulnerability, CVE-2025-????? (High)

Listen to this Post

The CVE-2025-????? vulnerability in Array Networks ArrayOS AG is a command injection flaw in a specific administrative component. It occurs due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied input within a privileged CLI or web management parameter. An authenticated attacker can inject malicious commands by crafting payloads using shell metacharacters (e.g., semicolons, backticks, or pipe symbols) within a legitimate parameter. The tainted input is concatenated directly into a system command executed with root or high-privilege context by the underlying operating system. This allows the attacker to escape the intended command flow and execute arbitrary OS commands, leading to full compromise of the appliance, data exfiltration, or pivoting to internal networks.
Platform: ArrayOS AG
Version: Before 9.4.5.9
Vulnerability: Command Injection
Severity: High
Date: 2025-08 to 2025-12

Prediction: Patch expected Q1 2026.

What Undercode Say:

$ nmap -sV --script http-command-injection <target_ip>
$ curl -k -X POST "https://<target>/mgmt" --data "param=';id'"
Check for suspicious child processes from the ArrayOS daemon.
$ ps aux | grep -E '(sh|bash|cmd|powershell)' | grep -v grep

How Exploit:

An attacker authenticates to the management interface and submits a crafted request to a vulnerable endpoint:

POST /admin/cli HTTP/1.1
...
command=diagnostics;cat+/etc/shadow

Protection from this CVE:

Update to ArrayOS AG 9.4.5.9+. Implement strict input validation using allowlists for CLI parameters. Run application with least privilege. Use web application firewalls (WAF) to filter command injection patterns.

Impact:

Full system compromise. Unauthorized root command execution. Complete confidentiality, integrity, and availability loss. Network pivoting.
