How the CVE Works
The CVE-2025-30677 vulnerability in Apache Pulsar occurs due to improper logging practices in its Kafka connectors (Source, Sink, and Kafka Connect Adaptor). These connectors log sensitive configuration properties, such as Kafka credentials, in plaintext within application logs. Attackers with access to these logs can extract credentials, potentially compromising Kafka clusters. The exposure risk depends on log accessibility—unauthorized users must gain log access to exploit this flaw. Versions before 3.0.11, 3.3.6, and 4.0.4 are affected.
