Android, Permission Bypass, CVE-2025-48572 (Critical)

Listen to this Post

How the CVE Works

This vulnerability exists within Android’s activity management system. It involves an improper implementation of broadcast receivers or exported components. Due to flawed permission checks, a malicious app with no special privileges can craft an `Intent` that launches activities belonging to other apps or system components from the background. This bypasses the standard user interaction requirement and the intended permission model. By targeting specific high-privilege activities (e.g., settings panels, admin actions), the attacker can induce unintended behavior in the targeted component. This allows for local escalation of privilege, potentially granting the attacker capabilities equivalent to those of the exploited component without user consent.
