The vulnerability exists in actiontech sqle versions up to 4.2511.0 within the JWT Secret Handler component, specifically in an unknown function in the file sqle/utils/jwt.go. By manipulating the JWTSecretKey argument, an attacker can force the system to use a hard-coded cryptographic key instead of a secure, dynamically generated secret. This hard-coded key is embedded in the application code, making it predictable. Attackers who discover or know this key can remotely forge JWT tokens, potentially bypassing authentication or impersonating users. However, the attack complexity is high and exploitability is difficult, requiring specific conditions or advanced knowledge. The vulnerability has been publicly disclosed, and the project is planning a fix in an upcoming release.
Platform: actiontech sqle
Version: <=4.2511.0
Vulnerability: Hard-coded cryptographic key
Severity: Low
Date: 27 Dec 2025
Prediction: Patch upcoming release
What Undercode Say:
Analytics
Bash command to search for hard-coded keys in the codebase:
grep -r “JWTSecretKey” sqle/
Example vulnerable code from sqle/utils/jwt.go:
func getSecret() string {
return “hardcoded_key_123”
}
How Exploit:
Craft JWT tokens using the hard-coded secret key to bypass authentication or forge valid sessions remotely.
